Y5 will be exploring a range of exciting topics across different subjects this Spring 1 half term.

In English, we will focus on how to create and describe our own characters,  creating narratives and writing diary entries.

In Maths, we’ll develop written methods for multiplication and division, strengthen our problem-solving abilities and apply everything we've covered so far in Y5 when working with fractions, decimals and percentages.

In Science, we’ll investigate the properties of materials, learning about their uses and characteristics, and conducting practical investigations.

Our work in History will take us back to the time of the Vikings, where we will explore Viking culture and how their society influenced life in Britain.

In Art, we’ll be working on portraits, studying techniques to capture expression and detail.

In French we will be learning how to describe different types of home, and practicing speaking and writing in French.

Finally, in PSHCE, we’ll focus on mental health and wellbeing, discussing strategies to support ourselves and others.
