Packed Lunched Policy and Guidance

Instead of having a school meal at lunchtime, children can bring a packed lunch to school.  As a HEALTHY SCHOOL, we have a policy regarding packed lunches and expect parents to follow this guidance.  Packed lunches …

  • should be provided in a ‘lunch box’ container (available from most supermarkets)
  • should be balanced (some protein, carbohydrate, etc)
  • should ideally contain raw or cooked/cold vegetables and fruit
  • should not contain chocolate or sweets
  • should not contain fizzy drinks
  • must NEVER be brought in to school from a fast-food outlet, e.g. McDonalds, Subway

If we are concerned over time about the quality of your child’s packed lunch or appropriateness of certain food items (e.g. chocolate), we will contact you.  We may also leave a note in your child’s lunchbox.
