Safeguarding Definition

Safeguarding is the term used to refer to all policies, procedures and practices which collectively aim to keeping children safe in a number of contexts.  It is the umbrella term which encompasses general safety education, safety policy and procedures for child protection.

Child Protection Definition 

Child protection is the term used to refer to the policies, procedures, practices and ways of working, including multi-agency working, which aim to protect children from neglect and harm, including significant harm such as physical abuse, emotional abuse and sexual abuse.
