Messages	Hi everyone! Thank you for your continued support on Seesaw – lots of you were really creative with your afternoon work this week! A big shout out to Aled who photographed the human and physical features of his local area and also to Ethan O who compared the features of his local area with Chembakoli – great work! This week we will start looking at celebrations in India, starting off with the Jaipur festival of elephants and it is your job to design and decorate an elephant for the prestigious event in art! Science will be over two days this week and you will need to get back outside again to investigate the micro-habitats in your local area – remember that a habitat is the type of area (woodland, pond, urban, coastal, desert etc.) and a micro habitat is a little bit like the home (in the ground, at the tops of the trees, in a rockpool etc.) Have a fun week Year 2! I have been busy at home and also in school, looking after the key worker children with Mrs. Whittle – she wanted to say a big hello to you all and she misses you greatly and she cannot wait to see you again! Thank you for all of your videos and pictures on Seesaw – I really do love seeing them all and a huge thank you to those that have already sent in your pictures and videos of French rainbows and the Maahi Ve dance (they are amazing!) I will be putting everything together in a Year 2 video this weekend so if you would like to be involved then try to get them to me by this Friday and I will post the finished result on Seesaw. For our home learning this week, we will be continuing our study of India and beginning our new science topic of habitats. I have left out the 5-a-day tasks for this week as the maths and English cover some topics we’re yet to study in class so these should be our focus this week. Messages	Welcome to week 2 of home learning! Thank you to all those that have been managing to keep on top of the work for last week. I know I have spoken to most parents on the phone, through Seesaw or via e-mail now but I will continue to make calls this week to those parents I’m yet to touch base with. A big thank you for all of the work you have sent via Seesaw – it has been wonderful to see all the hard work the children (and yourselves!) have put into it! Again, this week if you simply click on the blue writing for each task this will take you directly to the page/work to be completed. As I mentioned to many of you on the phone, the purpose of the set work if to provide children with some form of continuity during their time away from school – if you feel that you need to cut back on some of the activites or simply take a day off, please do – there is no pressure to complete it and your child’s happiness is the most important thing to nurture during these difficult times J.
