Swimming

The school provides swimming lessons for pupils when they are in Year 3.  They start in the February of Year 3 and continue until the following February, when they are in Year 4.  By the end of the swimming programme, we aim for

  • the vast majority of pupils to be able to swim 25 metres;
  • at least half of the pupils to be able to swim 50 metres;
  • the majority of pupils to be able to use a range of swimming strokes;
  • the majority of pupils to be able to perform a safe self-rescue.
