Hello Year 6.  Sadly, we are back in isolation this week, your final full week at primary school, which is a real shame given everything we had planned for the end of term. Hopefully this will keep us all busy.  I am writing this before the Euro 2020 final and so looking forward to the match.  By the time you read this, we will all know the result!  I am looking forward to catching up with you tomorrow on our ZOOM call at 10.00am and then at the same time every day.  Mrs Matthews

Hello Year 6. Firstly let me say how delighted I am that we have a date when we can all be together again as a class. I’m sure that we will all be pleased to be together and looking forward to falling back into the school routine. Please note the change of time to our Monday Zoom call this week, which will be Tuesday at 1.15pm (rather than Monday). On Wednesday please leave the Arithmetic until the Zoom call and we will complete it together. This will mean completing your literacy in the first hour. Thanks, Mrs Matthews.

Hello Year 6. I hope that you have enjoyed a well-earned break and feel ready to embrace this term’s learning. Please continue to work diligently and regularly in your books and, if possible, to continue uploading your work to Seesaw. We have a focus this term on algebra, which I am sure that we will enjoy as this will present a new challenge for us. Mrs Matthews

Hello, Year 6. Well done again this week on the quality of work that you have produced. I especially enjoyed reading your letters from an adult perspective to the children in the countryside and picking up on the more formal tone within them. Well done. It was also great to see how you employed your maths angle-measuring skills in your Science work. Over the next two weeks, we will be studying the text The Cats in Krasinski Square by Karen Hesse. Stay safe and well and look forward to seeing you all on our Zoom calls.  Mrs Matthews

Hello Year 6. Well done on getting through what must have been an eventful week for you all. It has been great to catch up with you all via Zoom this week and your follow-up work has been of great quality. I especially enjoyed reading your informal letter as an evacuee. This week we will be looking at how the Blitz affected us all, especially here in Manchester. Mrs Matthews

Hello Year 6. Thank you again for working so hard at home in all aspects of your learning.  I look forward very much to seeing you virtually or in person and having the opportunity to develop our existing ideas.  This week we are focusing in on the children in WW2 and their evacuation to the countryside. Again, there will be a creative link between your Literacy and History work. Thank you so much for those of you who posted biographies for me to read, they were fascinating. Keep happy, healthy and safe, Mrs Matthews.

Hello Year 6. It was a delight to catch up with most of you last week, either in class or via zoom. Thank you for all the hard work that you are doing at home. You are embracing this new experience and producing work of a very high standard. Writing in an exercise book daily, will help you keep some ownership of your learning and you will be able to see the continuity. You all should be really proud. This week I will downloaded some explanation videos on Seesaw, which act as an introduction and explanation in some sessions. I know that we are all excited to begin our WW2 topic in depth now. This week we will beginning our Science topic on light and shadow. Happy learning! Mrs Matthews
